Welcome
"All things are possible for those that believe"
Mark 9:23
Woodford Halse CE Primary Academy is a village school with just over 200 pupils. We provide for children from nursery age through to Year 6, with pupils taught in individual year-groups rather than combined classes. Our Woodford Way curriculum underpins everything we do, and aims to ensure our pupils are given the best start in life.
We have a rich and interesting history spanning over 150 years, and we are proud of where we have come from, but even more excited about where we want to go. We aim to be 'Ready, Resilient, Respectful and Reflective' and these are our school values, backed up by our belief in children also being Spiritual.
We think our school site and vast outdoor space is one of the things that makes us so special. There are not many schools in the county that have a swimming pool, a dedicated forest with its own stream for forest school, and a school field large enough to host an annual cross country event for over 1000 children!
We also have an incredible nursery and wonderful before and after school care provision.
Most importantly, we are a school of learners, where everyone can learn from the age of 3 to 103! Each day is new and different and each day gives us all a chance to learn or find out something new and different, and we embrace this ethos here at Woodford Halse.
We had our most recent Ofsted in October 2024 and were pleased to be judged as a 'Good' school. Whilst an inspection is an important part of knowing who we are and where we are at, it is just a snapshot of 2 days in the life of our busy school. We were really pleased that the inspectors noticed that the staff, children and wider community had what it takes to ensure we continue to make fast and structured improvements. They found our 'Woodford Way' curriculum to be ambitious and reported that “Woodford Halse is a caring and nurturing school. The school has a strong community feel, and parents spoke of it feeling like a family.”
We are proud of who we are and where we are going. Our website gives a tiny picture of that, so if you want to know more about us and explore our incredible site, then please give us a call. We'd love to talk to you and, if possible, meet you too to tell you about our incredible school.
